Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force head, Executive Assistant Ernesto Pineda, yesterday affirmed they are waiting on recommendations from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on the location of this year’s firecracker zone, which is typically designated in an area towards the rear of the Pope John Paul II Tower in the reclamation area.
He cited the city’s firecracker ordinance which requires the BCPO and BFP to offer recommendations on where in the city firecrackers and other pyrotechnics should be sold.
Pineda noted, firecracker and pyrotechnics vendors are allowed to construct kiosks as they wait for Police Regional Office-6 to process their permits./DGB, WDJ
