According to recent data released by the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO), dengue claimed the lives of two minors in the city earlier this month.

In a radio interview yesterday, CHO Environment and Sanitation Division head, Dr. Grace Tan, said both patients were three years old. The first was from Purok Sabes in Barangay Villamonte and died on November 10, while the second was from Barangay Bata and died on November 18.

She noted, both died after they were already in “severe condition” when they were brought to the hospital.

CHO data shows, between January and November 17, there have been a total of 13 dengue-related deaths in the city.

However, the number of dengue cases is still lower this year, with 1,206 recorded cases as compared to 1,706 last year./DGB, WDJ
