Following the Metro Inn takeover last week, the hotel owner’s daughter, an 11-year-old minor, reportedly filed child abuse complaints against her aunt, father, and father’s attorney.
The complaint claimed the minor’s father Francis Rey Cabuga, aunt Patchy Cabuga, and Atty. Erfie Del Castillo violated RA 7160, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
According to a police blotter, the minor attempted to negotiate the conflict between her parents but was not allowed to enter the establishment. In addition, she also claimed Del Castillo ripped up a letter she intended to give to her father.
The minor’s mother Catherine Brios said her lawyer is currently preparing documents to formally file a case.
Del Castillo, meanwhile, said they will address the issue in due time.
She added, Cabuga plans to bring forward a similar case against Brios.
A legal quarrel between Cabuga and Brios ended in a “standoff” last week, with the former and his legal team forcibly taking over the Metro Inn Hotel, located at 6th-Lacson Streets in Bacolod City./DGB, WDJ
