Following last Monday’s takeover of the Metro Inn in Bacolod City, which resulted in the front door being closed off, a release by the hotel confirmed the lodging facility is back in operations.
“The hotel is back in operation and hotel guests have started to check in,” the release stated.
The statement also clarified there was no hostage situation nor gunshots fired during the incident.
“One party in the business illegally padlocked the doors of the hotel giving the public [an] impression that guests were taken as hostages,” the hotel affirmed.
They also noted, “Security personnel are on duty to maintain the premises in safe situation.”
Earlier this week, businessman Francis Cabuga led a group consisting of his lawyer and nine “blue guards” into the establishment and immediately closed the main entrance of the hotel.
The incident was reportedly the result of a legal conflict between Cabuga and his wife Catherine Brios, who operates the hotel./WDJ
