Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently expressed concern the city would be affected following the hotel standoff at the Metro Inn last Monday.

In a radio interview, Leonardia said, even though the issue was a “marital dispute,” the incident could impact the overall peace and order of the city.

He stated, the incident was unfortunate, especially since it coincided with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants convention, which is currently taking place in the city.

Meanwhile, Bacolod City Administrator John Orola believes there was supposed to be a “court intervention” since the marital issue was private.

He called the situation an isolated incident and assured visitors to the city should not be alarmed./DGB, WDJ
