The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will be opening an office in Bacolod City on Friday, November 23.
“The Bacolod office is here to stay as a permanent office,” Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia remarked. “Its existence will even be more stable than any other field office in the country.”
The mayor noted, the office will “improve the ease of doing business in Bacolod and Negros.”
Last year, the SEC said they were considering the establishment of an extension office in Dumaguete City, with SEC Director of Enforcement and Investor Protection Department Jose Aquino identifying the city among a list of possible locations for an extension office.
He noted, the SEC seeks to partner with local government units in providing business permits in certain areas./WDJ
