A British-national was found dead over the weekend inside his home at Celine Homes in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.
Police identified the fatality as 74-year-old Robert Edwards, a native of London, United Kingdom.
Based on investigations by Police Station 4, Edwards’ remains were found by neighbor Jaime dela Cruz after the latter peeked through the victim’s gate.
It was also revealed, prior to the discovery, Edwards’ Filipina live-in partner, identified as Erlina Advincula, reportedly left him.
When police contacted Advincula, they were told she left the foreign national due to “irresponsible behavior.”
She added, Edwards became an alcoholic.
Advincula claimed Edwards cemented the windows of their home and told her the house would become his own mausoleum in the event of his death.
Edwards’ remains are currently stored at a local funeral parlor in the city and awaiting a decision by his former live-in partner and embassy./DGB, WDJ
