Negros Occidental provincial government employees flocked to ATMs yesterday after the Provincial Treasurer’s Office revealed 14th month bonuses were released. Although, while funding began distribution yesterday, acting Negros Occidental Provincial Àdministrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, said actual disbursement will depend on the individual department.

Under Department of Budget and Management Circular No. 2016-4, all government employees are eligible for a bonus equivalent to one month worth of salary.

The government official earlier clarified, “The 13th month was already released between May and June.”

Aside from the 14th month bonus, provincial employees also received a cash gift amounting to P5,000.

In addition, employees earning above P90,000 are eligible for tax deductions.

Any additional awards, meanwhile, will be subject to the discretion of the governor./DGB, WDJ
