Distrito: There are a lot of ordinances that need to be implemented
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
In light of recent criminal cases involving minors, including a 15 year old who robbed a pawnshop and admitted to using illegal drugs, Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito expressed alarm over the matter but said there are other sectors besides the city government responsible for solving the problem.
During a radio interview over the weekend, he called on barangay officials, religious organizations, and the local community to focus on the issue.
The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Laws and Ordinances chair also noted, there are “a lot of existing ordinances” that need to be implemented.
Meanwhile, he is seeking assistance from the Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development Anti-Mendicancy Task Force to strengthen the campaign to enforce the curfew ordinance./DGB, WDJ
