The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started a P200 million expansion and dredging project at the Bagonawa River and Cansonsing Creek in Barangay Tabao Rizal, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.

San Enrique Mayor Jilson Tubillara said the dredging projects are being done to control flooding in the town during heavy rains.

The mayor called the municipality a catch basin for water originating from Bago City, La Carlota City, and Murcia.

The project is expected to take one year to complete./DGB, WDJ
