Between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded three earthquakes across Negros Occidental.
Just after 11:30 p.m. last Tuesday, a 3.0-magnitude quake was recorded west of Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental. Shortly after, around 1:02 a.m., a 2.5-magnitude tremor struck near Siaton, Negros Oriental. The third incident, a 2.6-magnitude earthquake, occurred just after 4:15 a.m. west of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
According to subsequent Phivolcs bulletins, no damage was recorded due to any of the occurrences nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli intensity scale, where very few even feel the tremor./WDJ
