The Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) yesterday confirmed they are expecting to receive a new sewer jet, which is used in clearing drainage systems.

CDRRMO cluster head, Executive Assistant Joemarie Vargas, said the supplier recently called to confirm the item had already cleared the Bureau of Customs.

He said the sewer jet is made in Japan and is worth P21 million, adding, clearing operations will be at “full blast” with the new unit.

Meanwhile, the old sewer jets will be rehabilitated and will be used for clearing operations at city markets next summer.

In addition, personnel responsible for handling the new equipment will also undergo training./DGB, WDJ
