Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, confirmed they have identified one of the gunmen who participated in the recent killings in Barangay Bulanon, Sagay City.

In a radio interview yesterday, Bulalacao said one of the witnesses confessed to investigators that he knew one of the assailants.

However, the PRO-6 director said they will not reveal the name of the suspect as investigators are continuing to probe the incident.

Last Sunday, gunmen opened fire on a tent, claiming the lives of nine National Federation of Sugar Workers farmers.

Police recovered 12 empty 5.56 caliber cartridges, seven empty .45 caliber cartridges, and one empty .38 caliber cartridge from the crime scene.

An ongoing land conflict is currently still being considered as the primary motive./DGB, WDJ
