Atty. Rolandon Parpa, who is running against incumbent Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for Negros Occidental governor in the 2019 midterm elections, said he wants to address the problems faced by farmers.
Parpa, who chairs the Dacongcogon Farmers Producers Cooperative, said he is frustrated by the problems farmers have to deal with, particularly those in the sugar industry.
Meanwhile, Raul Sayson Baterna will be challenging former fourth district Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer for vice governor; however, Parpa and Baterna will be running independently of each other.
Earlier this month, both Lacson and Ferrer, under the presumption of running unopposed, vowed to campaign regardless./DGB, WDJ
