Lacson: Unity didn’t work out
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member David Lacson yesterday filed his certificate of candidacy to run for EB Magalona mayor, where he faces his “friend,” incumbent Mayor Marvin Malacon.
The provincial official said he originally planned to run as vice mayor; however, the two clashed on the composition of their respective Sangguniang Bayan.
“He had his line up of councilors and I [had] my own,” Lacson explained. “Marvin and I did not agree on the set-up, so, I decided to run for mayor.”
“I had hoped that the unity [on] the provincial level could be replicated in EB Magalona but it did not work out,” he added.
Lacson said he also received the backing of his cousins, Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano and former Board Member Patrick Lacson./DGB, WDJ
