John Michael ‘Joshua’ P. Castro of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), a Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA) alumnus, was recently named Rookie of the Year by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

The UST men’s table tennis team finished their season undefeated and captured this year’s championships after defeating National University in the finals.

The women’s team also won their respective UAAP title.

Earlier this week, LOPTTA announced they will be hosting the MassKara Festival Invitational Table Tennis Championships this week, beginning on October 19 at the LOPTTA playing center, located at Lopue’s San Sebastián.

Players are expected from across Negros Occidental, along with competitors from Antique and Leyte./PLL, WDJ
