During the recent E-Power Mo conference in Iloilo City, Department of Energy Oil Industry Management Bureau Assistant Director Rodela Romero said the “bote-bote” sale of gasoline and unauthorized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling is prohibited.

She noted, if a consumer doubts a retailer’s legitimacy, they should request to see their certificate of quality.

Meanwhile, Retail Market Monitoring and Special Concerns Division head, Engr. Renante M. Sevilla, said the unauthorized sale of such substances can be dangerous, noting, “bote-bote” sales can impact the health of both the retailer and buyer.

In addition, they noted, using a fuel of unknown quality can potentially damage machinery./WDJ
