Royal Star Trading one game away from a sweep

After recently defeating AACI Trading, 89-82, Royal Star Trading is one game away from sweeping the ongoing Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade, Inc. (AACI) Inter-Company Basketball Tournament elimination round.

Following a 16-16 tie at the close of the first quarter, Royal Star Trading pulled ahead in the subsequent period, leading 52-41 at the half. The eventual winners maintained their advantage in the second half, leading 72-61 after the third quarter and ultimately extended their winning streak.

Carlo Chu led the victory with 20 points, followed by Alvin Dionela adding 17, Sean Wee – 15, and Ardian Ong – 13.

In the other game, Sweet Crystals Sugar beat JSY Countertrade, 98-73.

JSY Countertrade opened the game with a 19-14 lead; however, Sweet Crystals Sugar later pulled ahead, leading 35-33 at the half.

The eventual winners then pulled away in the second half to take the win.

Yan Yan Muyco led the victory with 23 points, followed by Nikol Medina scoring 21, Robbie Jalandoon – 16, and Ervin Tan – 14.

Despite the loss, Matt Deles scored 26 points for JSY Countertrade./JSG, WDJ
