Two Negros Occidental provincial government employees tested positive for drugs following random drug testing conducted earlier this month.
In a radio interview over the weekend, Provincial Human Resource Management head, Atty. Annabelle Palic, said the two are now undergoing confirmatory testing and, if they test positive again, they would be recommended for counseling and subject to disciplinary proceedings.
Palic also said, if the two refuse re-confirmatory tests, they will file administrative charges of insubordination or misconduct, which could result in their dismissal.
The drug tests carried out this month are based on a circular issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) requiring public officials and employees to undergo mandatory drug testing.
The CSC states, government employees are required to undergo drug testing once every two years./DGB, WDJ
