LOPTTA table tennis tournament begins on Friday

The Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA) will be hosting the MassKara Festival Invitational Table Tennis Championships this week, beginning on October 19 at the LOPTTA playing center, located at Lopue’s San Sebastián.

Players are expected from across Negros Occidental, along with competitors from Antique and Leyte.

The competition will be divided into several categories, including boys’ and girls’ 13-Under, 10-Under, and 10-Under beginners; men’s and women’s open; men’s executive division, and a veterans competition for players 60 year old and up.

Following the success of LOPTTA-trained athletes at last month’s 2018 Batang Pinoy National Finals, coach Marell V. Lagunday said players should continue to improve.

“Players should not be content [with] winning in Bacolod City and then [resting] on their laurels,” she explained. “They should continue to practice more to improve each day.”

“LOPTTA always [believes], if our level of play here is at par, if not above, the level of [other] players in the country, then championships will be ours,” she added./PLL, WDJ
