Lacson: UNegA-Love Negros merger holding up
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday affirmed the merger between Love Negros and the United Negros Alliance (UNegA) is holding up.
He said the two local political coalitions have reached agreement on certain areas and continue to have a goal of implementing the merger down ticket.
However, after Himamaylan City and Silay City were earlier identified as areas where the two sides would be at odds, the gubernatorial hopeful said Toboso is also being considered a “conflict area,” with incumbent Mayor Richard Jaojoco expected to face a challenger.
Meanwhile, both incumbent La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan and Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor appear to be running unopposed./DGB, WDJ
