Bago City FC won the Negros First-Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) Youth Provincial Football Championship over the weekend after defeating the University of St. La Salle (USLS), 2-1, at the Ceres North Football Field in Talisay City.
The champions picked up several individual honors including Jerome Aligora as ‘Most Valuable Player,’ Christian Suarez took ‘Best Defender,’ and Justin Villan was named ‘Best Goalkeeper.” Meanwhile, players from the USLS-Integrated School picked up the other awards, Joshua Limco won ‘Best Striker’ and Luis Henares captured ‘Best Midfielder.”
“This program helped NOFA in promoting football in our province,” said NOFA President Ricky Yanson. “It’s a great learning process to have this kind of tournament.”/JSG, WDJ
STI-West Negros University recently defended their high school football title in the 38th NOPSSCEA season after defeating the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 6-0, at the Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City. Bryant John Alianza and Zakary Josh Lacson each scored a brace, while Rolevan Valderama and Adonis Abramm Abela delivered one goal apiece.
