The MassKara Festival dancers won bronze at the World Mask Dance Competition 2018, which took place over the weekend in Andong City, South Korea.

“It is an honor to represent the Philippines and Bacolod internationally,” the dancers said in a group message.

The group is comprised of 10 dancers from Bacolod City’s Barangay Tangub.

“This enhances further the attraction and image of our very own MassKara Festival,” said Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia. “We knew that our talented and dedicated dancers [would] capture the hearts and admiration of so many.”

The event, which included contestants from 13 countries, was part of the Andong Mask Dance Festival, which came to a close over the weekend.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization, Andong City is considered the “capital of Korean traditional culture.”/WDJ
