A La Castellana Municipal Police Station detainee reportedly hanged himself inside his cell yesterday morning.
While police did not identify the 58-year-old male, they confirmed he was a resident of the town.
Based on investigations by municipal police, around 2:30 a.m., one of the inmates woke up and discovered the victim hanging inside the cell’s comfort room.
Inmates immediately called for help and the individual was removed and rushed to the local health center, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police recovered the rope used in the incident and are currently looking into what pushed the detainee to kill himself./DGB, WDJ
