A minor 2.1-magnitude earthquake struck last Friday evening in the waters west of Basay, Negros Oriental.
According to a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletin, the tremor, which occurred just after 11:00 p.m., did not cause any damage, nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
The town was struck by several minor earthquakes last month, with the last one taking place on September 29, which measured 2.0 in magnitude.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli intensity scale, where very few even feel the tremor./WDJ
