After a meeting earlier this week between Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) officials and Antique provincial officials, the two parties decided preparations should begin on Monday for the planned route between the province’s Evelio B. Javier Airport and Clark International Airport, which is tentatively scheduled to open on October 28.

“The October 28 schedule for the maiden flight might be a little tight,” explained Timothy Jason Mapeso, fleet safety pilot for Philippine Airlines, the carrier that will be flying between the two airports.

He added, even if the schedule needed to be adjusted, the maiden trip will still take place this year.

Bacolod-Silay Airport began service to Clark International Airport towards the end of last year.

Philippine Airlines also services the route./WDJ
