Mayor proposes giving ‘centenarian’ incentives to 90 year olds

Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III announced he wants to provide senior citizens with portions of the P50,000 centenarian incentive, intended for city resident who reach the age of 100, beginning at 90 years old.

He proposed offering P10,000 for 90-year-old seniors, P15,000 for when they turn 95, and the remaining P25,000 when they turn 100.

The local program is funded through the city government’s Senior Citizen’s Fund.

Meanwhile, the city award is in addition to the P100,000 provided for centenarians by the Department of Social Welfare and Development./WDJ
