Bacolod City-based Silvergraces Construction won the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Western Visayas Regional Finals after beating Pototan National High School, 14-11, over the weekend in Iloilo City.

The team comprised of Charity Gicana, Kiara Isabelle Mejica, Shalimar Dublar, and Kaye Pesquera will next represent the region at the national finals in Manila on October 19.

“This tournament shows that basketball isn’t only for boys,” said Silvergraces Construction coach Gerome Aledron. “We have lots of potential [among] female talents in the province.”

“We hope to win a place in the national finals so that we can further promote the sport in Bacolod and the province,” he added./JSG, WDJ
