Acting Bacolod City Mayor El Cid Familiaran yesterday announced several hotels and inns in the city are fully booked ahead this year’s MassKara Festival.

“This is because in celebration of the 39th MassKara Festival,” he insisted.

The acting mayor said he learned about the situation after Department of the Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary Marjorie Jalosjos was unable to book accommodations.

Familiaran is currently serving as acting mayor while Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia is in Andong City, South Korea to attend the ongoing Andong Mask Dance Festival.

He said Andong City Mayor Kweon Young-sae will be in Bacolod City from October 25 to 28 as an invited dignitary for the MassKara Festival highlights.

“A group of K-Pop bands and singers are also expected to visit,” Familiaran added./DGB, WDJ
