An 84-year-old grandmother was rushed to a hospital in Bacolod City after she was reportedly struck by a motorcycle Wednesday morning at Purok Tuburan in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City.

Police identified the victim as Leonila Acol, a resident of the said area.

Kabankalan City Police Station traffic investigators said a motorcycle operated by 23-year-old Jerry June Capaducio was traveling north when he struck Acol, who was crossing along the crosswalk.

Acol was immediately rushed to a district hospital in Kabankalan City, but was transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City after doctors determined her injuries were far too serious.

Capaducio, meanwhile, surrendered himself to police following the incident./DGB, WDJ
