Additional P25M pending endorsement
The Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) recently approved over P25 million in various allocations, including P6.5 million for a resettlement site in Hinoba-an.
According to a press release, the allocation will cover two-hectares and includes costs for roads and a drainage system.
The area is expected to accommodate for 120 families.
In addition, PDRRMC also approved P434,650 to train 30 firefighters, along with P252,000 for a three-day basic incident command system training.
Meanwhile, the P18 million Task Force Buglas Humanitarian and Disaster Response and Coordination Center budget was also approved.
The Disaster Management Program Division, which will operate the said coordination center, is also awaiting an additional P25 million for a disaster risk reduction command system./WDJ
