The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) is now investigating the shooting of a Talisay City home owned by radio broadcaster Rey Siason.
According to Siason, the PTFoMS immediately coordinated with him following the incident last week.
The radio personality also said authorities recovered several closed-circuit television videos of the incident, while more empty shells and slugs were recovered from his residence.
Police Regional Office-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, meanwhile, confirmed, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Talisay City Police Station have formed a special investigation task force in order to achieve a speedy resolution to the case.
Bulalacao also assured Siason they would get to the bottom of the incident and have the perpetrators arrested.
He added, all details of the investigation will be made public once it is completed.
Last week, Siason’s home at the Carmela Valley Homes Subdivision was fired upon by two unidentified gunmen.
Police recovered seven bullet fragments and an empty .45 caliber shell from the crime scene.
Siason admitted he had been receiving death threats since last year as he also serves as a media witness for drug-related arrests.
Following the incident, various media organizations condemned the attack and called law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident and arrest the perpetrators./DGB, WDJ
