Retirees tour Iloilo

The Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) recently conducted a tour of Iloilo for retirees.

“We want them to relax and enjoy the beauty of Iloilo City and [the] province,” said DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas.

She also noted, the Iloilo Science and Technology University Retirees Association will be conducting research on local historical sites in order to provide more information for tourists.

The group visited the Sta. Barbara Church and Museum in Santa Barbara and the Damires Hills in Janiuay; along with observing baye-baye making in Pavia and a tablea demonstration in Cabatuan.

Within Iloilo City, they visited Megaworld and the Esplanade in the Mandurriao district; Casa Rizaliana, Molo Mansion, Molo Church, and Molo Plaza in the Molo district; and Jaro Cathedral, Lizares Mansion, and Nelly Garden in the Jaro district./WDJ
