Negros Oriental was struck by two minor earthquakes yesterday morning. The first, a 2.3-magnitude tremor, shook just east of La Libertad around 3:40 a.m.; while the second struck near Bais City, measuring 1.7 in magnitude.
The province was recently struck by a quake last Friday, when a 2.3-magnitude tremor struck the waters west of Basay.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, neither event caused any damage nor were there any aftershocks expected.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1, where very few even feel the tremor./WDJ
