Both the Negros Press Club and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) won at the NPC Sportsfest Invitational Fellowship Games over the weekend with the former winning the 40-above basketball division and the latter capturing the 40-below title.
The press club captured the 40-above by coming from behind and narrowly winning 104-102 in overtime.
BCPO, led by Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, opened the game with a 45-35 lead at the half; however, by the end of the final period, the two were tied 89-89. The media organization managed to pull away in extended time, with Arman Espina leading the victory with 30 points, followed by Mark Salanga adding 25.
In the other title game, the law enforcement team won 68-64.
Meanwhile, the Negros Press Club also won the volleyball and mixed volleyball competitions./JSG, WDJ
