The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has recently been conducting meetings for emergency exercises, scheduled to take place at Bacolod-Silay Airport next month, October 26.
According to Hemilie Fernandez of CAAP, the exercise will involve airport authorities, police and security agencies, medical services, aircraft operators, government authorities, airport tenants, civil defense personnel, among others, which will test the facility’s emergency plans.
The results will be used to observe the effectiveness of the plans.
“The test should correct as many deficiencies as possible,” she added.
Recently, the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital held a basic life support training for CAAP personnel at the Bacolod-Silay Airport conference room.
Among the skills reviewed included cardiopulmonary resuscitation, using an automated external defibrillator, and dislodging a foreign body airway obstruction./WDJ
