A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded just west of Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental yesterday morning. The tremor is the fifth to strike the area since last month.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, no damage was reported following the earthquake and no aftershocks were anticipated.
The area has been experiencing several minor quakes since August 14, when a 2.0-magnitude tremor struck the area.
The most recent earthquake was the strongest of the five.
Prior to yesterday, the most recent tremor occurred on September 11 and measured 2.4 in magnitude.
