A motorcyclist was killed late Monday night after colliding with a parked wing van truck in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as 35-year-old Leo Jose Bandiola, a taxi driver and resident of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

Based on a statement provided by wing van driver Ronnie Mangilumutan, he parked his truck in front of a bottling plant, when he heard a loud bang towards the rear.

Upon investigating the noise, he saw the back portion of his vehicle was damaged, while Bandiola was lying unresponsive on the road.

The victim declared dead at the scene by responding paramedics after sustaining a fatal head injury.

Traffic investigators added, the victim was not wearing any helmet at the time of the accident./DGB, WDJ
