The Philippine Under-18 basketball team won the International Basketball Federation (IBF) Youth Leadership Cup mixed 3×3 tournament, which took place earlier this month in Bali, Indonesia.

The team was led by Kent Jane Pastrana of Silay City, who currently plays for National University (NU). Joining her were Dom Dayrit and Kevin Quiambao, both also from NU.

“We are so happy to win the tournament,” said Pastrana. “We poured everything we had on the court.”

“All the pain and sacrifice [was] worth it,” she added.

Coach Denden Velez pointed out Pastrana has won both this tournament and the ASEAN School Games, which took place last July.

“Two championships titles in two months?” he asked. “What a way to end your high school basketball career.”/JSG, WDJ
