The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital recently held a basic life support training for Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines personnel at the Bacolod-Silay Airport conference room.

Among the skills reviewed included cardiopulmonary resuscitation, using an automated external defibrillator, and dislodging a foreign body airway obstruction.

Formal certifications were provided for those who passed relevant examinations.

Last July, the Negros Occidental hospital operations department, in cooperation with the Department of Health-Region VI, Provincial Health Office, and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, held a first aid training and basic life support training in an effort to improve emergency response capabilities for provincial medical personnel./WDJ
