The Bago City government yesterday welcomed Asian Games silver medalist Rogen Ladon home with a ceremony in the city’s Bantayan Park. This year’s games was co-hosted by Indonesian cities Jakarta and Palembang and ended earlier this month.

Ladon won silver in the men’s light flyweight boxing competition, following his loss to Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Latipov after the referee stopped the gold medal fight.

Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo presented the boxer with a plaque and a check worth P50,000; while Vice Mayor Ramon Torres provided a copy of a Sangguniang Panlungsod resolution congratulating the silver medalist.

The mayor said his accomplishment could serve as an inspiration for local youth.

Ladon is originally from the city’s Barangay Lag-Asan./DGB, WDJ
