Balugo National High School of Valencia, Negros Oriental took first place in the Negros Island Battle of the Brains, a regional science quiz bee conducted by the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), which took place over the weekend at Foundation University in Dumaguete City.

Another Negros Oriental school took second place, Cambagahan National High School of Bais City; while Bago City College of Negros Occidental took third.

Ten schools from across Negros competed in the finals, with Bacolod City represented by Riverside College Inc. Senior High School and Dr. Vicente Gustilo Memorial National High School.

The winning school took home P30,000, with P10,000 and P7,000 awarded to second and third place respectively.
