A 71-year-old man was killed last Monday when he was struck by a speeding vehicle along Burgos Street in Barangay 1, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Fernando Cabana, a resident of the town’s Barangay 2.

Isabela Municipal Police Station traffic investigators said Cabana was crossing the street when he was hit by a still-unidentified vehicle. The driver reportedly sped away, leaving the victim in the road.

Bystanders rushed Cabana to the town’s district hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival due to multiple injuries.
