Gelvolea: Negros Occidental is one of 13 ‘priority provinces’

 

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung country representative, Dr. Stefan Maria Jost, yesterday signed an integrity pledge with the Local Government Integrity Circles (LoGIC) Network, which commits the provincial government to combat graft.

The agreement also ensures the implementation of RA 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, which requires financial reporting ensuring accuracy and transparency.

Meanwhile, acting Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, said Negros Occidental is one of the 13 “priority provinces,” which were determined by the National Competitiveness Council, along with evaluating agencies for the Seal of Good Local Governance Award and Peace and Order Situation and Good Governance.
