A detainee at the EB Magalona Municipal Police Station was confirmed dead on arrival at a local clinic after he reportedly hanged himself yesterday morning inside the station’s custodial center.

Police identified the fatality as Allan Bolivar, a resident of the town’s Barangay Damgo.

In an official report issued by the local town police, Bolivar was arrested last Monday in a buy-bust operation and was brought to Iloilo City for drug processing.

He was then returned to the town’s police station to face charges.

However, when police conducted a routine check around 8:00 a.m., they found Bolivar hanging inside the detention center’s comfort room, prompting them to rush the detainee to the town’s clinic.

Investigators determined Bolivar used his own clothes to hang himself./DGB, WDJ
