After a report released earlier this month by the Negros Occidental Office of the Provincial Agriculturist showed the town of San Enrique recorded around P1.339 million in rice crop losses between September 3 and 5, their latest progress report upped the number to approximately P2.726 million.
The recent report mirrored the initial findings, showing the same 59 farmers and just over 95.76-hectares of land were negatively impacted by the inclement weather. However, the latest data showed a huge spike in the number of damaged crops in the reproductive stage of development affected, jumping by over P1.27 million.
The area hosts just over 653-hectares of total crop land.
Last month, around P5.424 million in crop losses were reported in Hinigaran. The greater majority of losses were from rice crops, which valued around P4.783 million./WDJ
