Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go yesterday led the opening of the new Malasakit Center at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
In an interview with local media, Go said the facility intends to “deliver the necessary government services to the public.”
He explained, the center is a one-stop shop for those seeking medical services and financial assistance.
Among the agencies expected to be housed within the Malasakit Center include the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.
Go added, presently, they have a P5 million check for the office, which is for the benefit of Negrense patients.
Aside from Bacolod, Go said Malasakit Centers are also present in Puerto Princesa, Iloilo, and Tacloban.
Also present were Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya, and Silay City Mayor Mark Golez./DGB, WDJ
