Suspect denies allegations, claims he is gay

A 32-year-old little person was arrested last Thursday on accusations of attempting to rape a six-year-old girl at the reclamation area in Bacolod City.

Police have refused to identify the suspect or the victim.

Police Station 2 (PS2) commander, Police Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, said, based on a statement provided by the girl’s mother, the suspect allegedly abducted the girl and attempted to rape her.

Upon witnessing the incident, several concerned residents mauled the suspect, hitting him in the head repeatedly until a Police Station 1 unit, who happened to be passing the area, broke up the altercation and arrested the attacker.

The suspect was then turned over to PS2, since the incident happened within their jurisdiction.

The assailant, who faces sexual assault charges and is detained at PS2, denied the allegations and claimed he is gay./DGB, WDJ
