A newborn baby was found dead Wednesday evening along JV Street in Barangay 19, Bacolod City.
The child, which was confirmed by police to be a female, was discovered inside a plastic bag with its umbilical cord still attached and wrapped around her neck.
Based on official information by Police Station 4 (PS4), the baby was found by local residents.
Witnesses, however, provided mixed reports to police.
Some say they saw a white vehicle pass the area, which immediately sped away after leaving a plastic bag; others claimed they saw an unidentified woman in the area.
PS4 is currently checking several closed-circuit television cameras near the area.
The baby’s remains, meanwhile, were brought to a local chapel before being buried yesterday morning./DGB, WDJ
