The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and National Food Authority (NFA) recently conducted random inspections of Bacolod City rice warehouses as part of the government’s crackdown on rice hoarders.

According to NBI-Bacolod chief, Atty. Renor Baldovino, during the joint inspection, they did not find any rice hoarders in the city.

Baldovino said they inspected four major warehouses in the city and, based on their assessment and findings, there are no cases of rice hoarding.

He pointed out, assessments by the local NFA found there was no abrupt increases in rice stock among dealers operating in the city.

Rice dealers in the city are presently acquiring their supply from Iloilo, Bicol, and Manila./DGB, WDJ
